Letter of Introduction
Sailors and sailing enthusiasts:
As the president of Club NÃ utic El BalÃs it gives me great pleasure to present to you the next edition of the Mediterranean Sailing Meeting, that between us is also known as the Med Sailing.
In the third anniversary of this international regatta, we want that this meeting of sailors become from now on one of the most prioritized events on sailors´ agenda. Not only do we simply want to host the third edition of the Med Sailing, but also, we want to reinforce an already solidified organization, of which have consecutively headed the last three editions of the Setmana Catalana de Vela which are recognized as having been very successful on all levels.
Last year a total of 328 boats and 580 sailors came together for this regatta. In this year’s edition we hope that even with all the challenges the Clubs, sponsors and private contributors might have, between everyone we can make an effort to maintain these figures.
The Med Sailing is a competition that we want to be of the highest possible level, but that above all, what interests us most is the comradeship, friendly environment and strengthening the relationships and personal values of all those involved over the course of the weekend. And without forgetting the respect we owe to the environment around us.
The races will be held the 11th (Saturday) and the 12th (Sunday) of May 2013. Race courses will be set up for the eighteen classes that will compete on the Maresme waters.
It would give us much pleasure to count on your participation, as the races can only be determined by the sailors, and for you to count on us, the Club, and organizers, to provide the means in order that everything works well and that you have the best possible experience.
I look forward to seeing you in May and that we can all share good moments amongst all friends of sailing.
